On the evening of Monday, October 12, some residents of Harris County MUD 419 had low water pressure or no water at all. We know how frustrating it is to turn on the tap and find no water, and we appreciate everyone who called to report the problem.

What happened

Your district's water is supplied by Harris County MUD 418, the master district that produces and delivers water to the Bridgeland MUDs. The operator for MUD 418 reported the following:

"Last night at 9:40 PM, Water Plant 1 called out for low pressure at 60 psi and within 1 hour and 10 minutes, according to the flow data, the pressure dropped to 37 psi. We found the booster pumps air locked and within 10 minutes we bled air and the psi immediately rose. By 11:08 PM the pressure was at 61.2 psi."

What we're doing

We're working with MUD 418 and our operators to find out why the booster pumps air locked. We also want to understand why some homes kept having problems after pressure returned at the plant, and what steps can prevent this from happening again. We'll share an update when we know more.

Your water is safe to drink

System pressure stayed above the state's minimum standard, so no boil water notice was required. Your water remains safe to drink.
